Desenvolvemos um modelo de negócio baseado no uso múltiplo da terra, em que iniciativas para conservação e potencialização da biodiversidade, como pesquisas científicas e projetos socioambientais, acontecem ao mesmo tempo em que atividades econômicas sustentáveis são desenvolvidas, como crédito de carbono, produção de plantas, compensação de reserva legal ou uso público. Desta forma, garante-se a manutenção da própria área e são fomentadas novas cadeias produtivas locais, gerando valor compartilhado para a empresa e a sociedade.
How we do business
We work with a business model that develops multiple activities on the same hectare, where biodiversity conservation initiatives, such as scientific research and socio-environmental projects, take place in an area at the same time as sustainable economic activities are developed, such as the generation of carbon credits, plant production or compensation for legal reserves. In this way, the conservation of the area itself is guaranteed and new local businesses are encouraged, generating knowledge for the company and society.

REDD+Cerrado
Development of the first REDD+ project in the Brazilian Cerrado.
PSA Carbonflor
Development of a new methodology focusing on payment for environmental services (PES), including carbon, in the Atlantic Forest.
Biodiversity Center
Through the Legado das Águas and Legado Verdes do Cerrado, 450 species of native Atlantic Forest and Cerrado plants are cultivated annually, with a focus on landscaping, reflorestation and ecological restoration.
Legal Reserve
370 hectares of Legal Reserve leased in the Legado das Águas.
Ecological Restoration
In 2022, 125 hectares of restoration projects were implemented and 300 were contracted in the Atlantic Forest in 2022. There was more than 45 hectares restored in the Cerrado.
Consulting
Development of Vazantes Mineiras Projetc for the company Nexa, in Vazante (MG). The project includes actions related to nature conservation, sustainable productive activities, research and ecotourism in an area of three thousand hectares owned by the company in the municipality.
Social
Nossa estratégia de atuação social foi desenhada respeitando as vocações e talentos de cada região onde a empresa administra territórios. Por isso, fomenta a geração de valor compartilhado, o desenvolvimento local e a pesquisa científica em prol da valorização da biodiversidade.
• Nosso programa de Atuação Social abrange cinco eixos de investimento, sendo os três primeiros com apoio do Instituto Votorantim:
• Estímulo ao desenvolvimento sustentável por meio do Programa ReDes (Redes para Desenvolvimento Sustentável);
• Desenvolvimento local através do Apoio à Gestão Pública (AGP);
• Contribuição na educação pública dos municípios onde as empresas investidas do portifólio Votorantim estão situadas, através da Parceria pela Valorização da Educação (PVE);
• Parcerias visando o impacto positivo na comunidade por meio do engajamento de pessoas e instituições locais e regionais;

Social
Our social action strategy is designed to respect the vocations and talents of each region where Reservas Votorantim manages territories. In this way, we contribute to local development and protect biodiversity through scientific research.
Our Social Action Programme has five investment axes, the first three of which are supported by the Instituto Votorantim:
• Promotion of sustainable development through the ReDes programme;
• Local development through the Apoio à Gestão Pública – AGP (Public Management Support);
• Contribution to public education in the municipalities where Votorantim’s companies are located, through the Parceria pela Valorização da Educação – PVE (Partnership for the Improvement of Education);
• Partnerships aimed at making a positive impact on the community through the involvement of local and regional people and institutions;
• Involvement of the internal team in the development of the social planning of Votorantim’s companies.
Governance
We have a Supervisory Board. Its purpose is to identify, discuss and ensure the dissemination of corporate principles. Decisions are made on the basis of defined strategies that optimise return on investment in the long term, with a positive social and environmental impact.
We hold annual Diálogos (dialogues), Encontro Técnico (technical meetings) and Semear events that focus on sharing information with your stakeholders.
We have signed up to the UN Global Compact, expressing our intention to implement its principles on human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption in our strategy, culture and daily operations. It has also integrated all of Legado das Águas’ activities into the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and publish progress and monitoring reports from 2021 onwards. This initiative is now being developed at Legado Verdes do Cerrado, as part of our integrated management system.
Areas managed by Reservas Votorantim
Reservas Votorantim currently manages two environmental reserves and an area for the commercialisation of native plants. It is also responsible for other areas in Votorantim’s portfolio, totalling more than 130,000 hectares of land under management.
Legado das Águas
Created in 2012, Legado das Águas is the largest private Atlantic Forest Reserve in Brazil, covering 31,000 hectares in the municipalities of Juquiá, Miracatu and Tapiraí, in the Ribeira Valley, in the interior of the state of São Paulo.
Located just over 100 kilometres from the city of São Paulo, the reserve is a rare and highly protected area, crossed by the Juquiá River along its entire length.
The mission of Legado das Águas is to create a new model of private reserve that generates social, environmental and economic benefits in a sustainable way.
This is done by combining the protection of the forest and the development of scientific research with the activities of the new economy, such as the production of native plants and public use, which includes tourism activities, rental of the area and environmental studies.
Legado Verdes do Cerrado
Located in the city of Niquelândia, Goiás, the Legado Verdes do Cerrado combines traditional activities with the new economy to generate knowledge and conserve the forest.
With an extension of 32 thousand hectares, approximately 80% of the area is made up of native Cerrado and is divided into two nuclei: Engenho and Santo Antônio da Serra Negra.
In the Engenho, with 27,000 hectares, scientific research and environmental education activities are carried out, new economy activities are developed, such as plant production, compensation of legal reserves and the first REDD+ project of the Cerrado biome, generating carbon credits, as well as agricultural operations with integrated management with nature.
The Santo Antônio Serra Negra, of 5,000 hectares, keeps the native Cerrado untouched and has part of its area bordered by the Serra da Mesa Lake.
Pátio Caeté
Located in the city of São Paulo, Pátio Caeté is a space for the sale of plants and accessories for landscaping with a focus on Brazilian biodiversity, and also serves as a distribution centre for the plants produced by Legado das Águas.
Managed by Reservas Votorantim and operated in partnership with Giovanna Paisagismo, Pátio Caeté aims to meet the demand for native and often rare species that guarantee environmental and economic benefits for landscaping and ecological restoration projects.

Who is the controller of your personal data?
Reservas Votorantim, a company enrolled with the Taxpayers’ Registry CNPJ/MF under n. 23613510/0001-30, with headquarters at Rua Manuel Bandeira, 261, 1 floor, Vila Leopoldina, State of São Paulo, is the company controlling the personal data processed within the scope of this Privacy Policy. For the purposes of the applicable legislation, “controller” is who is in charge of decisions related to the processing of personal data. In addition, as will be detailed in this Privacy Policy, your personal data may be shared with Reservas Votorantim’s partner companies and investees for purposes of management and operation of the Site and of the remaining Internet applications of Reservas Votorantim, as well as to improve the services provided by Reservas Votorantim, in which cases such companies may also be controllers of your personal data.

Reservas Votorantim may collect your information at various moments and in different manners in this Site, as described below:
Information provided directly by the User: Name, address, e-mail, telephone, company and country.
Navigation information and Cookies: Cookies are information that a site transfers to the computer of an individual in order to keep records. For which purposes do we collect your data?
• The personal data of the Users, according to each case, are processed by Reservas Votorantim for the following purposes:
• To provide high effectiveness while rendering its services and adequate support for the performance of its corporate purpose;
• To adjust the appearance and the content to the preferences of the users, in order to provide them with faster, more pleasant and effective access.
• To authenticate accesses;
• To seek adequate security for the services offered and means of identification in the event of inappropriate or illegal use;
• To solve problems and prepare notifications related to the use of the sites, platforms and Internet applications of Reservas Votorantim;

With whom do we share your personal data?
Reservas Votorantim may share your personal data with third parties, business partners, companies from the same economic group as Votorantim or companies controlled by Votorantim which are relevant to enable the use of the Site and other Platforms by the Users or to enable the provision of services to the Client. Such sharing occurs based on the following criteria and for the purposes described below:
Service providers or business partners: We may share your personal data with service providers hired by Reservas Votorantim to (a) provide operational management software or other information technologies for management and registration of Clients. Such agents receive your personal data with the specific purpose of providing services to Reservas Votorantim and do not have any rights to use your data with exception of this hypothesis.
Request from a competent authority: Reservas Votorantim may also share your personal data with third parties (including government agencies) in order to answer to investigations, judicial measures, judicial proceedings, or to investigate, prevent or adopt measures related to illegal activities, suspected fraud or situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or if otherwise required by legislation.
For how long will we keep your personal data?
We store and keep your information: (i) for as long as required by law; (ii) until the end of the processing of personal data, as mentioned below; or (iii) for as long as necessary to preserve the legitimate interests of Reservas Votorantim. Thus, we will process your data, for example, during the applicable statutes of limitation or for as long as necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.
• The processing of personal data shall end in the following cases:

We are committed to delivering a safe and reliable Site for you, and guarantee we take the necessary measures to provide a better experience in this sense.
The Site is a safe place for us to provide an environment in which any data transmission is confidential and safe. This Site uses several physical, electronic and administrative procedures to protect the confidentiality of your personal data. The access to your personal information is restricted and only the IT support team of Reservas Votorantim, its affiliates and its service providers who absolutely need to access for specific purposes are granted access to your personal data.
